Introduction

Overview

The HTS Farms E4 Agro Programme held on Thursday the 25th of January, 2024 by 9am at Jabi Abuja, FCT Nigeria. Participants registered upon arrival, and their attendance was recorded throughout the day. The masterclass included a series of sessions covering essential aspects of broiler farming. Participants were engaged in practical demonstrations and interactive discussions. The maiden edition educated over 70 registered participants (both new and existing farmers) from different walks of life on the different aspects of broiler production and management. The training had seasoned experts who acted as facilitators to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary to maximize profitability and yield in broiler farming. Equipped with detailed training materials and engaging lecture sessions, the participants had quite an interesting day, learning about the broiler farming industry, understanding the growth patterns of broilers, housing and lightning requirements, feeding techniques, health management, growth optimization, financial management, record keeping and market trends.

    3. Empowered 10 qualified participants with a starter pack for the entire period of their first broiler production cycle. The starter pack consisted of:
      • Day Old Broilers
      • Feeders 
      • Drinkers
      • Feeds
      • Drugs (multivitamins, vaccines and antibiotics)
    4. Opportunity to connect with other farmers, industry experts, and potential investors.
    5. Continuous follow-up sessions with participants by way of community building.

Evaluation

Participants embarked on breakout sessions in smaller groups and assessments were conducted to evaluate the knowledge and skills gained by participants.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Impact

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we were able to reduce poverty in selected individuals by providing decent work through proper education on broiler farming thereby improving the economic state of the individuals and their community. Additionally, the training was able to promote equal opportunities among farmers and in extension, empowering Nigerians to be more productive and self-reliant.

Certification

Following the conclusion of the E4 Agro Programme, a certificate distribution process was conducted smoothly, ensuring all participants were recognized for their commitment and being equipped with the ability to successfully train a Broiler from day old to table size for profit purposes.

Conclusion

The E4 Agro Programme centered on Broiler Production for Profit was a comprehensive training program designed to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to excel in broiler farming. By covering essential topics such as nutrition, health management, and financial strategies, the masterclass aimed to help farmers achieve maximum yield and profitability. The combination of theoretical lessons and practical sessions ensured that participants left the program well-prepared to implement what they had learned on their own farms. The event concluded with positive feedback, reflecting the value and impact of the training provided.
